I had my first visit at this salon after too many misses at various highly touted salons on both the west and east sides of LA. I went in and talked to Brittany, told her what I wanted, she told me how she could do it with my very fine, frizzy, and fragile hair, so I made an appointment. Brittany delivered beautifully. The color is perfect, the cut is fantastic, and I couldn't be happier! I went to see an old friend who said "You finally look like yourself." My hair looks better than it has,quite literally, in years. I'm an older woman who appreciated that there was no "attitude" at the salon, Brittany is delightful, and extremely talented. There was beautiful work going on at every station. Yea! Brittany is an artist!

This place is BUSY and for a reason. Even before you get in you'll notice every client walking out the door and you can't help but double take for their hair. And soon my friend, that will be you too. Anabelle is my preferred stylist, I followed her from the previous salon she was at cause she's just that good. I get a cut and color with her and she nails it every time. She's fast, and is able to interpret what you want with little prescriptive direction - I'll go in with a curated mood board and she'll take a glance and just run with it. She'll make it better than you imagined in your head cause she makes it work for you and I love that. Her specialty in my experience is that rocks at making low maintenance but super chic colors and cuts. Think Victoria's Secret hair - that's Anabelle. Parking in the back is a major plus, be sure to remember they have it as it will save time. They serve coffee and tea and make you comfortable, no stuffiness here, just hair stylist that are cranking out bomb looks one after another. Worth the money and the planning in advance for appointment.

This is my first time here, and i have nothing but great things to say about this place! I first walk in and automatically loved the layout. It's got a chic industrial look. The environment is great here, especially since I pass by the place all the time and have never seen it! It also has a nice vibe, the staff are so friendly. Julianne is the best! I showed her how I wanted my hair done, and she got it exactly how I wanted it, down to the tips! She is very sweet, easy to talk to, and very helpful! I'm the type of person who has trouble styling my hair the way i want to and figuring out what products i should use, but she showed me how I can style my hair to get the look that I want and recommended products. I would definitely come back and i would want her to style my hair again! I'm in LOVE with my hair.

Union Salon South is situated at a great location (with plenty of parking) and the salon itself is really gorgeous and has a wonderful atmosphere. Their selection of Bumble & Bumble and Oribe products is awesome. The receptionists are really friendly and the attention to detail is great, right down to the refreshments they offer and reading material in the waiting area. I've been back to the salon twice since my first time and whereas I hated getting my hair done before, I really look forward to it now, because it's such a nice experience here.

But the main reason I come to Union Salon South is due to Meli Batimana, who was recommended to me by a friend when I was looking for someone who would be good at cutting shorter hair styles. I have fine, wavy (frizzy) shoulder length hair and Mel saved the day when someone else cut my hair all wrong. Not to mention she inspired me to put down the flat irons and embrace my natural hair texture, which I love now because she showed me how to use the right products. I've been planning on growing my hair out again, but now I'm not so sure, because I love how Mel styles it short for me.

I have been a long time customer of Michael Zaldivar's and was so excited when he opened up the original Union Salon. Now that the South location is open it's even better! The location has easily accessible parking, a very cool warehouse feeling and tons of great lighting and room. Michael has been cutting, coloring and straightening my hair for 15 years! He is simply the best and the staff that he hires are always top notch as well. Union Salon South is awesome! I am so glad he did this expansion.

I really can't say enough about JAMIE. For starters, she makes it her mission to make your experience in her chair enjoyable from beginning to end. Not only does she really listen to your vision of what you want but she is honest about what she thinks will truly look the best for your hair type, skin tone, face shape etc. I have gone to her to chop off my long locks to shoulder length, highlight my virgin hair as well as the routine trim and without fail get compliments on my hair every time. Union Salon is an exceptional salon with a casual fun vibe and is so lucky to have someone like her. I have and WILL follow her wherever she chooses to take her talents!
